FM Station just celebrated their first year on University Blvd. I’ve done some logo work for them and they’ve given me the chance to show some of my latest work at the shop. We also started painting a mural in the back room. If you were at the party last Saturday, you saw me getting it started. It’s taken me a little longer than I would like to get the concept together, but the process is speeding up and things are looking good!

Come by to check out their newly released shirts and watch as I lay some paint down on their walls. The mural should be finished up in the next week or so. I’ll post pictures as things progress.

Saturday’s opening went well. The place was packed from open to close! It was great to be there working next to excellent artists and designers. I can’t wait to work on my next projects and planning my next exhibit!

The show is open until the 31st. Visit the gallery’s website for business hours.

I’ve been working on this project for a while.  I’ve modified the design to better functionality and comfort, while allowing myself time to meet my deadline. This project has shown me how disadvantages and mistakes can redirect you to a better outcome.

I’m glad to be a part of another group show like this. This is one, hovever, I’m especially excited about. I’ts downtown on 4th Ave, at Conrad Wilde Gallery. Its a very nice place and I’m really happy to have the opportunity to show my work there.

I’m pretty much finished up on the seat concept. Here are a few pictures of how things started off. Things came together quite well. The exhibit opens Saturday, October 3rd from 6 pm  to 9 pm. I’ll post more as the show gets closer!

ME!

You might find this picture on your milk cartons. I’ve been working a lot lately. Taking a color theory class at the community college. Life takes one on the path of least resistance, and, before you know it, time has flown away!

I am working on a project for a gallery show early next month. I’ll post the advances on that when I can. I’m headed out to finish it before the deadline gets any closer! Meanwhile, this is a video of one of the projects I’m working on at Creative Machines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nztXBSE4QYA

The car sculpture is coming along. I’ve had two other projects in the works since I began and I’m starting to move forward on this again. There are many problems to solve along the way, but I’m extremely excited about the finished product!

As an aspiring industrial designer, a lot of my ideas are in the direction of 3 dimensional form. I’ve been working on a few designs for a gallery exhibit of contemporary furiture. This is something I came up with on Rhino 3D. I’ll start working on the actual prototype in the next week.

In the last year I’ve been involved in about 4 group events, a show at a streatwear shop, a show at a toy store, and my first solo exhibit at a gallery. I’ve been working with Creative Machines now for 3 years, learing a lot about fabrication and large projects. There’s nowhere else to go but up!

I’m planning on going back to school. I’ll be attending the local community college next month with hopes to transfer to a design school next fall. I’m planning to be a part of three shows in the next two months and I will post more information about those projects soon!

Bike

This project has been coming along pretty well. It’s a bit more work than I thought it would be. That’s usually the case when building something!

This is a toy bicycle made of solid steal. I’ve been thinking about toys in general lately. Kids cry for them and fight over them. They are so important to us as children! I think toys are a child’s tool to stimulate his or her imagination. I played with legos and batman action figures as a kid. Everything was left to the imagination.

I wanted to build a lowrider bike because I had a thing for lowriders when I was really young. I was passionate about model cars at the age of 14. I customized every car to create a lowriders. The gold and chrome, and all the bright colors were so appealing to me. I still think that there is so much character and attitude in them.
